Privacy Policy

When you join the waiting list, we record what you gave us and a record of the consent you gave:

• Your email address — as you typed it, lowercased.
• Which option you chose — “I want to eat it” or “I want to open one”.
• The page you sent it from.
• The date and time you submitted it.

We do not ask for your name, phone number, address or payment details, and there is nowhere on this site to give them to us.

Alongside those, we keep a record of your consent: the exact wording you agreed to, the version of that wording, the fact that it came from this web form, and the IP address the submission arrived from. Canada’s anti-spam law puts the burden of proving consent on us, so we keep enough to show what you actually agreed to and when. We do not use the IP address for anything else — not tracking, not profiling, not advertising.

Our hosting provider also keeps standard server request logs, which include IP addresses, for a short period.

To email you about the opening of our first Canadian location at 337 King Street West, Toronto — and, if you selected “I want to open one”, to reply to you about partnership and franchise enquiries.

We do not use it for anything else. We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Submitting the form is how you give us consent to email you about this. You can withdraw that consent at any time — every email we send will carry an unsubscribe link, and you can also write to canada@vertexitaewon.com and ask us to stop.

Withdrawing consent costs you nothing and does not affect anything else. We will act on the request and delete your address from the list.

The waiting list is held in a private Google Sheet that only VERTEX Canada Inc. staff can open. The site itself runs on Vercel.

Both providers operate servers outside Canada, including in the United States. While your information is held in another country it is subject to that country’s laws, and may be accessible to its courts and law-enforcement or national-security authorities. By submitting the form you accept that this transfer happens.

Your email address: until the launch campaign is finished and you have had a reasonable chance to hear from us, or until you ask us to remove you — whichever comes first. Addresses no longer needed for that purpose are deleted.

The consent record: kept for three years, separately from the mailing list, even after your address is removed. Canada’s anti-spam regulator can look back that far, and without the record we could not show that you asked to hear from us. It is used only to answer such a question — never to email you again.

This site sets no cookies and loads no analytics, advertising or social tracking scripts. Fonts are served from our own domain rather than a third-party font service, so simply reading this page does not report your visit to anyone.

Links out to Instagram and to our Korean site are ordinary links. Once you follow one, that site’s own privacy policy applies.

The site is served over HTTPS, the form is rate-limited against abuse, and the waiting list is stored in a restricted document. No system is perfect, but we keep access to the list limited to the people who need it.

Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) you may ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. Write to canada@vertexitaewon.com and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us their email address, tell us and we will delete it.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes to how we use information already collected will be sent to the list.
